The Dyatlov Pass incident is the mysterious death of a group of skiers who were killed by “a compelling unknown force” in the Ural Mountains of Russia in 1959. The circumstances of the skiers’ deaths are unknown and have been a point of debate due to unexplained characteristics, such as very high levels of radiation detected on the clothing, as well as injuries not attributed to common explanations such as an avalanche. Other hikers in the area reported seeing strange orange lights in the sky, and the victims’ families reported that the skin of the deceased had an orange glow. Many other details of the accident remain unclear, as the Soviet government closed access to the area of the incident for many years.
