At just under five feet in width, the Sam Kee Building in Vancouver, British Columbia, is the narrowest commercial building in the world. Originally a standard-sized building, the lot was reduced by 24 feet during a road widening project in 1912, but designers decided to build the structure to accommodate the reduced area. The result is a building that is 4 feet, 11 inches wide on the ground floor. It widens to six feet on the second floor.
